2009 A year for success.

Well since it is now 2009 I have decided this is going to be my biggest year for success. No matter what I do this year I am going to set myself up for nothing, but success. That way there is no room for failure, right? I guess we will see. I have decided to come up with a training schedule for back home and this is what I am thinking: Well the chart I made did not copy over so the next paragraph shows my plans.

With this kind of training schedule I do not think it is possible to work a full time job and get in much better shape. I wish I was done with my training and could devote all of my time to tri training, but I cannot so cross training is a must. This is 5 hours a week swimming, 4 hours per week running, probably more like 5 because Command PT always has about 4 miles of running, 10 hours a week biking, and 3.5 hours cross training. This totals 24.5 hours per week training. If I can stick to this training plan I will be even more of a machine than I have already made myself, which is my goal.

Aside from doing this I am really going to start a true athlete’s diet and be very conscious of what I eat. No more junk food, no more fast food, and a lot more cooking at the home place. I am going to be keeping a log of all my workouts and meals to keep myself on the straight and narrow. This has to be my life if I want to make it through my training.

To a lot of people this training would be way out of the picture, but for me it is not. I already train about 15-16 hours per week now and there is no reason I cannot up the pace.

I do not do triathlons to be a professional; I do them because I enjoy them. The way I see it though, if I enjoy doing them, why not do my best? Also, for the training I am going to get into, my body needs to be prepared to do the miles and take the abuse. You can never be fully ready for it, but I am going to be as close as possible leaving only the mental blocks as challenges.
